St. Benedict 6, Veseli 1

The Saints outhit the Warriors at Veseli and scored runs in the latter part of the game for a 6-1 victory.
Veseli had a first-inning lead with a solo homer by Justin Novak.
St. Benedict took a 4-1 lead in the seventh with several hits and Scott Eischens hitting an RBI double.
In the eighth, Jacob Riesgraf hit a two-run homer for a final 6-1 score.
Eischens, Andrew Huss and Michael Pauly had two hits each for the winners. Steve Olson hit safely twice for Veseli and Steve Cox had the other hit for the Warriors.
Jacob Wolf, with nine strikeouts, was the winning pitcher.

The Saints had only two hits in a home game with Veseli, but Dave Sherry’s solo home run in the sixth inning decided the game at 1-0.
Steve Weiers, the winning pitcher with seven strikeouts, had the other hit, a single.
Veseli’s three hits were singles by Justin Novak, Nate Novak and Steve Olson.

St. Benedict 7, Prior Lake 5
The Saints led all the way in this game, but Prior Lake closed to within 6-5 in the seventh inning before St.
Benedict got an insurance run in the seventh at Prior Lake.
A five-run second was St. Ben’s big inning as they came up with three singles, two walks, a sacrifice fly and a two-run double by Scott Eischens.
Dave Sherry and Drew Payne also hit two-baggers for the Saints.
Jake Lehrer, Zach Lovera and Dan Schroeder hit doubles for the Mudcats.
The latter two had back-to-back hits in the sixth to score two runs.
Steve Weiers was the winner.

The Sox put one up in the win column at St. Benedict, defeating the Saints, 5-0, as Matt Branson spaced eight hits and struck out five.
Nate Nielson drove in two runs with a double and two ground outs, Brett Hoffman hit two singles and Kyle Chlan hit a solo homer for the second run of the game.
St. Benedict was led by Scott Eischens and Steve Weiers with two hits apiece.

The Saints scored eight runs early to move to an 8-0 lead in the middle f
the third inning at Shakopee and maintained their lead for a 10-6 win.
Michael Pauly led St. Benedict with four hits and drove in three runs with two doubles, Chris Albrecht hit two singles and a double, and Scott Eischens, Jeremy Heitkamp and Dave Sherry had two hits apiece.
Scott Greening hit a two-run homer for the Coyotes and Andy Lazzari hit an RBI double.

Dave Sherry had another good day, driving in five runs with a three-run homer, double and single as St. Benedict won its fourth game, 10-7, at Union Hill. His homer in the sixth inning snapped a 4-4 tie to put the Saints ahead. St. Benedict totaled 21 hits with Steve Weiers adding four, Jeremy Heitkamp and Scott Eischens three each, and Chris Albrecht and Nick Malz hitting two singles each.
Adam Gill had a perfect 5-for-five for Union Hill including a run-scoring double, Kyle Johnson hit a double and single to drive in four runs, Jeff Dietz hit four singles and Andrew Weiers hit two singles.
Jacob Wolf was the winning pitcher as he worked the first six innings.

St. Benetict 11, Montgomery 2

Jacob Wolf worked the first seven innings for the Saints at St. Benedict, fanning 10 to claim the win, an 11-2 victory over the Montgomery Mallards.

St. Benedict had a big, six-run fourth inning highlighted by Dave Sherry’s two-run double and added runs in the fifth inning on Scott Eischens’ three-run homer.

Nick Malz also hit a second-inning double and Chris Albrecht hit three singles for the Saints.

Montgomery totaled six hits with Nick Worm hitting two doubles and John Krocak hitting two singles.

St. Patrick 6, St. Benedict 4

A three-run seventh inning was the decider at Bonin Field as the Irish took a 6-4 decision over the visiting St. Benedict Saints.  A one-out single by Bill Dunker, fielder’s choice, walk, Craig Boser’s two-run double, a hit batter and an RBI single by Jake Malz produced the three runs.

St. Patrick had the first lead with a two-run second inning on hits by Malz, Wade Schuknecht and Colton Borwege. St. Benedict evened that in the top of the third as Jacob Riesgraf and Mark Trapp hit one-out singles, Dave Sherry drove in a run with a grounder and Scott Eischens singled for a 2-2 tie.

Seth Ambroz opened with a single in the St. Pat fourth, Malz sacrificed, Schuknecht bunted for a single and Borwege’s grounder made it 3-2.

Trailing 6-2, the Saints scored a pair in the eighth on consecutive singles by Sherry, Eischens and Steve Weiers for a final 6-4 score.

Bill Dunker pitched the distance for the win for St. Patrick, striking out ten. The line score:                                R H E

St. Benedict 5, Lonsdale 4

The Saints broke a 4-4 tie with a single run in the eighth inning to take a 5-4 decision over Lonsdale at St. Benedict. Jacob Riesgraf hit a one out double, Jeremy Heitkamp singled and Mark Trapp hit a sacrifice fly for the game winning run.

Steve Weiers, who also hit three singles during the contest, was the game-winning pitcher in relief.

Chad Vosejpka of Lonsdale led his team with a solo homer in the fourth inning and added two doubles
